What Is Vollure™?
Like the rest of the fillers in the Juvederm® family, Vollure™ has a hyaluronic acid base. This molecule is present naturally in the connective tissues of the human body and is responsible for keeping the skin hydrated due to its ability to retain up to 1,000 times its own weight in water. Hyaluronic acid is what gives your skin its soft, supple, and smooth appearance, so when your body produces less of it with age, the skin becomes increasingly papery and wrinkled.
When administered to specific areas of the face, Vollure™ provides visible volume that “fills out” areas where hyaluronic acid and collagen have been depleted. This restores a full, smooth look, as well as encourages ongoing hydration.
The different fillers vary in terms of consistency, with Vollure™ being a cohesive yet malleable option that bridges the gap between Voluma® (the heaviest of the fillers in the line, injected deep into the skin for lifting the cheeks) and Volbella® (the lightest and thinnest filler in the line, used for superficial injections and subtle refinements).
Which Conditions Does Vollure™ Treat?
Facial fillers like Vollure™ are non-surgical treatments that are typically used on the lower two-thirds of the face for correcting static wrinkles, which develop due to natural aging and damage from ultraviolet radiation and other sources.
Vollure™, specifically, is designed for treating moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, including parenthesis lines—which are also referred to as nasolabial folds—marionette lines, and oral commissures. It helps to smooth these lines while still allowing for natural-looking facial expressions.
WHAT IS THE VOLLURE™ EXPERIENCE IN NEWTON?
Prior to any facial filler treatment, you will have a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Holly Happe, who will go over your medical history, assess your skin, talk to you about your goals, and help you find the most effective solution for the types of skin damage or signs of facial aging you have. She will also discuss any current medications or supplements you are taking and any previous aesthetic treatments you’ve had.
A treatment session for Vollure™ typically lasts for about an hour and is considered to be a “lunchtime procedure.” Dr. Happe and her team take steps throughout every step of the process to ensure that you’re as comfortable as possible. A local anesthetic or topical ointment may be used beforehand to reduce any stinging felt during the injections.
Results can last for up to 18 months.
Are There Other Treatments For Restoring Smooth Skin?
The other members of the Juvederm® family can be combined with Vollure™ to optimize results and provide an overall rejuvenation by addressing multiple areas and concerns.
