Revanesse® Versa

Target Laugh Lines For Smoother Facial Contours In Newton And The Boston Area

Not all injectable dermal fillers are the same—which is great, because not all patients seeking cosmetic treatments are the same! Since no two faces age alike, Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics offers multiple options for addressing the volume loss that leads to the development of lines and creases. With the uniquely formulated Revanesse® Versa, Boston and Newton-area women and men have a choice for improving the appearance of their nasolabial folds, better known as laugh lines.

WHAT CAUSES LAUGH LINES?

Hyaluronic acid—a sugar found in the skin and all throughout the body—is essential for a smooth and youthful look. This substance acts as a cushion and lubricant for the joints as well as connective tissues in the body. Facial creases develop as levels of hyaluronic acid (and other beneficial molecules, like collagen) drop in the skin due to age and environmental factors.

Wrinkles form when space is created between the damaged collagen and elastin fibers in the skin. Essentially, the surface sinks instead of remaining taut and firm. The resulting lines are known as static wrinkles.

Nasolabial folds are static wrinkles that extend from each side of the nose down to the corners of the mouth. Everyone has these creases , but they become more pronounced as you get older.

Aging causes your cheekbones to become flatter, and the pull of gravity causes loose skin to sag on this area. Smoking, sun damage, and weight fluctuations can also cause nasolabial folds to become more prominent. These folds may only appear when you’re laughing or smiling when you’re younger , but they may deepen and be seen all the time as you age—even when your face isn’t moving.

Fortunately, facial fillers like Revanesse® Versa can restore volume to plump up the areas that are deficient in collagen and other important skin elements.

WHAT IS REVANESSE® VERSA?

Discover Revanesse® Versa™ at the Newton and Boston area’s Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics.
Injectable Revanesse® Versa™ at the Newton and Boston area’s Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics is a hyaluronic acid-based filler made with a unique formula that provides long-lasting volume for reducing nasolabial folds and other facial lines.

Revanesse® Versa is a type of injectable facial filler that re-introduces hyaluronic acid where it is needed. The prescription filler is injected into the skin, where the added volume promptly fills in creases and gives the surface a more uniform smoothness. Versa is approved to be injected into the mid to deep dermis for moderate to severe wrinkles and lines, such as nasolabial folds. One of the main advantages to Versa is that it is believed to cause less post-injection swelling compared to other hyaluronic acid fillers.

Furthermore, Versa is formulated without animal products or byproducts. Its unique formula, high-quality ingredients, and innovative manufacturing technique make it highly effective for treating facial wrinkles.

The filler is ideal for adding volume around the mouth area and provides an overall lift to the skin, creating a softer and smoother appearance. Versa is manufactured with a spherical particle shape that makes the filler more easily accepted by the body, and it breaks down slowly over time, so results are long-lasting.

WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR REVANESSE® VERSA?

Patients 22 years old or older who are physically healthy, non-smokers, have a positive outlook and realistic goals for how their skin can be improved, are committed to good skin health, and are not allergic to the ingredients in the filler could be good candidates for Revanesse® Versa.

Revanesse® Versa is not intended for patients who are breastfeeding or pregnant, have a history of hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation, have evidence of scars at the intended treatment sites, have acne or other inflammatory conditions like rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, or psoriasis, have an allergic history or multiple severe allergies, have an acute or chronic skin disease on or near the injection site, have an unhealed wound of the face, are taking blood thinners, or having a bleeding disorder or clotting disorder. Other treatment ideas can be discussed at a personalized consultation.

WHAT IS THE NEWTON VERSA EXPERIENCE?

For Dr. Holly Happe to match the best treatment to the right patient, she starts each plan with a consultation. This allows her to gather a full medical history, assess the way a patient’s face has uniquely aged, and start a conversation about cosmetic goals, possible treatments, and expectations.

A More Beautiful You

Dr. Holly Happe has years of experience with medical aesthetics, providing results that help skin to look and feel the best it can.

Harvard Medical School American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine RealSelf Allergan Medical Institute Master Injector American Board of Anesthesiology

Because Dr. Happe is a board-certified physician and anesthesiologist, she approaches every Versa™ injection session with complex goals in mind: creating natural-looking and beautiful results while maximizing safety and minimizing pain and discomfort. This strategy informs her pre-treatment decisions, the session itself, and future follow-up care and advice. Revanesse® Versa is injected directly into points along the nasolabial folds. The filler is infused with a numbing agent called lidocaine that can help to minimize the discomfort during the treatment.

WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE FOR REVANESSE® VERSA?

The results from Versa are visible right away and long-lasting. Note, however, that fillers tend to have a shorter duration when used on areas with high facial movement, such as nasolabial folds.

All injectable treatments have some generally noticeable side effects, including redness and swelling, and Versa is no exception. A clinical trial showed that swelling after a Versa treatment measured at half of the injection-site swelling caused by another product. The overall safety and effectiveness of Versa was established in three clinical trials that involved more than 300 people with a range of skin types.

Any injection-related side effects should resolve on their own in a matter of hours or days. As for results, the smoother-looking skin from Versa for nasolabial folds can last for up to a year under ideal conditions. Choosing an experienced injector, like Dr. Holly Happe, is one of the best ways to get the best results possible.

Revanesse® Versa should not be combined laser skin treatments, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, dermabrasion, over-the-counter wrinkle creams or prescription wrinkle products for at least four weeks prior to the appointment. These products and treatments can increase the risk of inflammation and infection at the injection site. Eventually, Revanesse® Versa, like other facial fillers, is dissolved in the body.

WHAT OTHER FACIAL REJUVENATION TREATMENTS ARE AVAILABLE?

Beyond Revanesse® Versa, Dr. Happe Medical Aesthetics also offers numerous other fillers: Juvederm®, Bellafill®, Sculptra®, Radiesse®, and Restylane®. Each provides unique benefits, from adding volume for mid-face contouring to stimulating collagen production to smoothing out the backs of the hands. These fillers can be used to augment other areas of the face such as the cheeks and lips to reduce wrinkles, address age-related volume loss, or sculpt more defined facial contours.

Although the facial wrinkles that are treated with facial fillers are usually static wrinkles, there are also other types, called dynamic wrinkles, that occur because of our repetitive facial expressions. The underlying facial muscles are attached to the skin and creases form in the areas where the skin folds constantly. In areas where signs of aging develop due to muscle contractions as opposed to volume loss, a neuromodulator is the more appropriate cosmetic treatment choice. Choose from BOTOX®, Xeomin®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau.
