WHAT IS LETYBO®?
Any kind of facial movement, such as smiling, frowning, and squinting, can lead to the development of a common sign of aging – wrinkles. Patients who are hoping to improve the look of dynamic wrinkles now have a new option available to them! Letybo®, which is manufactured by Hugel, has the same mechanism of action as the other neuromodulators. The active ingredient in this medicine is letibotulinumtoxinA and when Letybo® is injected into the muscles underlying the affected area, it temporarily blocks the chemical signals from the nerves that cause the muscles to contract. Your skin appears smoother and more youthful as a result. The results can last for up to three to four months on average. Clinical studies show that this injectable has a high efficacy and excellent safety profile.
WHAT CAN LETYBO® TREAT?
Letybo® is injected into certain facial muscles to treat moderate to severe wrinkles. It can be safely applied to all of the other areas where neurotoxins are used.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LETYBO®?
Individuals who have moderate to severe facial wrinkles, are in good general health, and have realistic expectations for improvement are considered suitable candidates for this treatment. Letybo® could be ideal for patients who have noticed that BOTOX® has been inconsistent for them and are seeking alternatives. This can include those who have noticed that recently it takes a little longer for BOTOX® to kick in or that they are not getting the same results they were before. This treatment is not recommended for those who are allergic to any of its ingredients or who have had an allergic reaction to another botulinum toxin product.
OTHER TYPES OF WRINKLE RELAXERS
Before Letybo® was introduced, there were five types of botulinum toxin type A injectables available in the U.S., including BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, Jeuveau™, and DAXXIFY®. All six of them contain the same active ingredient and work the same way to reduce the look of wrinkles for several months. Though they are very similar, there are some subtle nuances in terms of the results and dosage, so you may find that one of them may be a better option for you than the others. For example, Dysport® diffuses more than BOTOX®, making it ideal for treating larger areas like foreheads. Xeomin® is a more concentrated and pure form of botulinum toxin that does not contain any preservative proteins. There is some anecdotal evidence that Letybo® has a slightly quicker onset than BOTOX®, with the full results appearing in just a few days.
